The M5's are the perfect blend of a performance and price. They are the next generation of carbon road wheels in the ever-popular M-series.
The M5's construction uses Mercury's Dual Carbon Layer Process, or DLP. DLP blends high and mid-moduli carbon fibers to tease out the best balance between the lightweight and stiffness of the former and the fatigue-resistance and durability of the latter. DLP also involves the incorporation of high-temperature resins in the brake track to reduce heat build-up and increase stopping power. This increased stopping power goes a long way toward addressing the poor braking that is one of the most common critiques of carbon wheels.
The aerodynamic benefits of a deep dish rim are further complemented by Mercury's Seamless Transition Technology (STT), which integrates the brake strip with the rest of the rim in order to eliminate any obstructions to wind flow and reduce drag-causing turbulence. The result of this construction is a wheel that balances the above qualities with considerations of weight for our most popular wheel by far.
Spokes + Hub
The M5s are finished off with Sapim's indefatigable CX-Ray spokes and Mercury's own hubs. The rear hub includes multiple pawls for an engagement that's as close to immediate as anything we've seen on the market today, and the front hub has an extra-wide 70 millimeter flange for reduced flex under hard efforts and confident stability at speed. Both hubs have an oversized axle that reduces to accommodate a traditional quick release and two and four oversized bearings in the front and back, respectively.
This wheelset comes with either Shimano/SRAM or Campagnolo 11-speed compatible freehub body and includes skewers, brake pads, and rim strip.

Faster Than a Speeding Bullet. Born and crafted in an aerodynamics lab, the A5 comes in at 55mm deep, but offers a virtual depth of 67mm by utilizing Kamm Tail Technology.
You can visualize the Kamm Tail effect by imagining a tear drop shaped aerofoil with a small portion of the tail end removed. Up to a certain point, the flow will still act as though the tear drop shape is complete without going turbulent. What that means in the real world is you can have the aero benefits of a 67mm deep wheel, while still maintaining a lower profile to maintain stability in cross wind. That means that the A5 is a great option for a do-all wheelset.
They are as happy in the weekend crit as they are in a time trial or road race.
We improved braking performance by using resins that are some of the highest temperature rated in the industry. The A5 is built with Sapim CX-Ray bladed spokes, laced into our Tempest straight pull hub using a 2:1 pattern that increases lateral stiffness without additional material.

At first blush, you might be inclined to compare Mercury's M3 Carbon Clincher Wheelset to other manufacturers' pure climbing wheels. And you'd be right to do so, at least when it comes to climbing. But these aren't just a one-trick pony. The M3s' aerodynamic pedigree, low weight, and brute strength also recommend them for all the ups, downs, and flat-outs of competitive cycling. They cover the demands of every terrain on every day of your cycling life.
The rims measure 38 millimeters, a depth that strikes an all-purpose middle ground between straight-on aerodynamics, hiding from crosswinds, and considerations of weight for climbing. The M3 is a solid 24mm wide, which means you can run lower PSI for a more comfortable ride that corners with unparalleled confidence. Wider rims also have some counter-intuitive effects when compared to those standard 19 millimeter rims: they actually decrease rolling resistance and increase aerodynamics.View full product details

The M50's have seen countless podium finishes on varying courses. They are light enough to handle the steepest of climbs yet deep enough to provide you with an “unfair” aerodynamic advantage on the flats. Bottom line, the M5’s will bring you to the line alone. It is up to you to decide how to celebrate the win.
The M5s' construction is informed by the Dual Carbon Layer Process, or DLP. Mercury blends high- and mid-moduli carbon fibers to straddle the best balance between the lightweight and stiffness of the former and the fatigue-resistance and durability of the latter.
